None of them were notable fighters of any kind. Just simple folk who were grateful and who knew that you had to settle your debts. They had all needed the old spirits in their hour of need and now, so they were told, the old spirits needed them. 

Cultists are Cult deckhands. With their „Mob“-rule they profit from strength in numbers and their mystical choir strengthens the invocations of nearby mystics.
