An Dan

The An Dan were born out of a tragic accident. At the beginning of the great wave of emigrations, a British-Welsh-Irish generation ship with thousands of settlers had set off full of hope to establish a new colony on one of the three moons of Gliese 667 C.
However, Fate was not with them – their ship veered off course to crash on an unknown planet. It was only decades later that the rest of humanity became aware of this tragic accident. Unfortunately, the technology available at the time did not allow for an investigation let alone a rescue mission to be launched – the distances were just too vast. As a consequence, the settlers were officially declared lost and eventually forgotten about.

Miraculously, many settlers had survived the crash. Which is more than could be said for the digital devices and data repositories on board – all of them had been thoroughly wrecked and rendered irreparably damaged. Whatever had caused the crash, the settlers had no chance but to accept their Fate and make do with what little they could salvage from the wreckage. Over time, they forgot their modern origins and regressed to their shared ancestral memories, developing a way of life based on the Celtic peoples of antiquity. The origins of their name An Dán have been lost over the centuries.

Faction game mechanics

Warning! Although their almost neolithic appearance suggests an uncivilised people, the An Dan appear to have highly developed camouflage and combat technology. Their ability to use their mobile teleportation chambers to suddenly appear at any point on the battlefield can be a particularly nasty surprise. Fighting the An Dan means having to constantly watch your back. This is only tempered by the fact that the An Dan have not entirely mastered their new technology, at least not yet, and so not every intended jump actually works.

The slingers shoot highly-charged artefact shards which shatter into thousands of pieces of shrapnel upon impact and can thus injure even more opponents.

The fog hunters are masters of camouflage and use it to appear out of nowhere, attack with their bows, and vanish again.

The moonwalkers lure their opponents into cleverly-laid traps, which they then explode around the unsuspecting victims.

Edana

Edana feels at home with her friends and family. At the same time, she is eager to explore new places and improve her skills. She has always loved looking at the stars and wondered whether there are other worlds and adventures to be had outside of Tír na Nóg.
She is celebrated as the most successful huntress in her tribe and has the highest respect for all forms of life. She never hunts for fun but sees hunting as a means to an unavoidable end.

Leesha

Ever since Leesha found the Staff of Guldur as a child – and thus became the first An Dan to come into contact with the artifacts which her people now call “Solas” – her aim in life has gradually shifted. She is now completely focussed on the Solas, with whom she has the strongest connection. She is slowly beginning to understand that there appears to be more to the matter than the An Dan have previously suspected.

Social considerations have become of secondary importance for her, to the point where she doesn’t even notice Egan’s advances.

Irven

The somewhat shy Irven grew up with Leesha, Edana, and Egan. A strong bond of friendship connects these four, with Irven primarily concentrating on the well-being of the others. Thanks to his exceptional perceptiveness, he can recognise danger so early that he can use the Solas to make his friends vanish into thin air before the eyes of their enemies.

He knows how to entertain his friends with his delicate, subtle, and sarcastic sense of humour.

Slingers

The slingers are teenagers who are about to be accepted into the adult covenant. The youngsters admire Leesha, Edana, Irven and Egan because they are inspired by them. still feel understood by them. They do not think that the other elders truly understand youth’s unbridled joy in pure fun and horseplay.

The slingers are agile, fast, and surprisingly accurate with their slings.
